 Reading (I)

教学设计

◆ 内容分析: 

本板块是一篇网站文章,话题为“奥林匹克运动会”。旨在引导学生热爱体育运动、领会奥运精神,以“更快、更高、更强”的奥运格言激励学生形成积极向上的价值观和生活态度。通过介绍中国在奥林匹克运动会中的成就及对奥运会做出的贡献引发学生的爱国主义情怀。

 

◆ 教学目标:

By the end of this section, students will be able to

1. summarize different paragraphs with subheadings;

2. know how to draw a time chart to present events that happened in different years.

3. achieve a deep understanding of the Olympic Games and the Olympic spirit;

◆ 教学重难点:

1. Achieve a deep understanding of the Olympic Games and the Olympic spirit;

2. Grasp a basic knowledge of Chinas achievements in the Olympics.

◆ 教学过程:

Step 1   Lead-in

Lead in: show some pictures of sport items and ask students to speak out the names of the sports in the pictures.

【设计意图:紧扣主题,用学生熟悉的运动来激活学生已有的知识和经验,引入主题。】

 

Step 2   predict

Suppose that you were the author, what would you write in your article to introduce the Olympics.

【设计意图:通过课前预测文章结构及内容,更大程度上激发学生对文章的兴趣】

 

Step 3   Reading

Task 1   Check

Check the structure of the passage.  

Part 1 The introduction.

Part 2 Subheading 1_______.

Part 5 Conclusion.        

【设计意图:通过对比自己的预测与文章本身内容快速熟悉文章大意,培养学生快速阅读的能力。】

 

Task 2: Summary

(1)Read para.1 and fill in the blanks below to summarize what the Olympic Games are according to what you read in paragraph 1.

Task 3   Memory testing

1Read paragraphs 2-3 and remember as much information as you can for 2 minutes. Close your books and fill in the blanks according to what you remembered. Pay attention to the years when your are reading.

(2)Summarize the subheading of Paras 2-3.

Para. 2 Ancient Olympics.

Task 4  Blanks filling

(1)Read Para. 4 and fill in the following chart.

(2)Skim over Para. 5 and fill in the following chart.

(3)Summarize the subheading of Paras 4-5.

Subheading 2: Excellent Olympians   

 【设计意图:通过填空让学生掌握两个优秀的运动员在奥林匹克运动会中的优秀表现。】

             

Task5  Time Chart Drawing

(1)Watch a short video about paragraph 6 and draw a time chart to show all the events in different years mentioned in paragraph 6.

(2)Summarize the subheading of paragraph 6.

Subheading 3: China’s achievements to the Olympics.  

(3)   Show a video about the opening ceremony of 2008 Beijing Olympics to let students to have a sense of national pride.          

【设计意图:通过看视频掌握视频中的时间线并用自己的想像力画不同类型时间轴图展示不同时间段发生的事件。在这一环节中让学生感受中国在奥林匹克运动中的成就,然后通过观看2008年奥林匹克运动会开幕式的视频,让学生再次点燃他们的爱国情怀。】

 

Step 4   Summarizing

Summarize the structure of the whole passage.

Part 1 The introduction.

Part 3 Subheading 2 Famous Olympians.

Part 4 Subheading 3 China’s achievements to the Olympics..

Part 5 Conclusion.        

Step 4 Homework

1.Search for more information about the Olympic Games.

2. Finish  B1 and B2 on P19.
